One person gets murdered by Israeli attack in southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) One person was killed and several others injured in an Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in southern Lebanon on Monday, according to local media.

A Lebanon’s news agency reported that the attack targeted a car near Baisariyah, in the Sidon district. The identities of the victim and the wounded have not yet been confirmed.

The outlet also said Israeli drones were seen flying over the Iqlim Al-Tuffah region at medium altitude shortly after the strike.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the reports.

The incident comes just a day after two people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Sunday, amid ongoing tensions in southern Lebanon. Despite a declared ceasefire, Israel has continued to carry out near-daily attacks, claiming to target Hezbollah fighters and infrastructure.

According to Lebanese media and local officials, more than 4,000 people have been killed and nearly 17,000 injured since Israel launched its campaign against Lebanon in October 2023, which escalated into a full-scale offensive in September 2024.
